I would find a new place to get tires with that BS. They have no legal grounds to deny a warranty based on anything that isn't explicitly stated in writing within said warranty, let alone something that has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
That aside, we've only had 1 set of Generals in...
I like the Jeep's looks and the interior is great. As someone that drives every single vehicle into the ground though, reliability always keeps me away. Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge have been absolute trash for a long, long time. Ford hasn't been great in recent years either, but I still trust a Ford...
I'm on my 2nd set w/ my EL and have been happy w/ them. I ran through 2 sets of Pirelli Scorpions before this for a total of < 60k - less than I got out of 1 set of the Michelins. The Pirellis were better in the snow, but that's the only thing they had going for them. If I make it to another...
You can try it. The procedure is in the service manual, but I can't currently access mine (It's on a CD and the PC I built a few months ago doesn't have drive bays.). That said, I have recalibrated mine several times over the years and it always ends up just being a very short-term fix. More...
Passenger side temp is controlled by the actuator behind the stereo. Super easy to change out. Mine went at 130k (truck was about 7y old).
There's an Expedition video, but I can't find it. The F150 is extremely similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hM4PTJ8PNs
On late model vehicles the front windshield blocks 94% of UVA from the factory wherein the sides (and rear on cars) do not. So you're not really gaining anything in terms of UV protection. You're getting some light reduction of course, but you're also significantly reducing visibility since you...
The shop is full of crap. This is one of those scenarios where they are trying to blame their own negligence on some outside influence. Tinting isn't going to introduce any more water than would be introduced by driving in the rain with your windows open. Moreover, they should be used...
They are? I got 80k out my first set on my 3rd gen EL. Heck, at 210k I'm only on the 3rd set in the rear. I'm actually shocked at how long they last - longer than any other vehicle I owned before or currently.
Based on this alone, I'd find a new mechanic. He's throwing parts at the problem without having any idea what the problem actually is. While the coils do go bad on these trucks more than most vehicles, they're not a routine maintenance item and there's no reason to replace them if they're not...
Disconnect the battery and saturate it with electronics cleaner. Give it 30 min to dry, reconnect battery and see if it's improved. Worst case, it harms nothing.
