    I am curious which direction your gas struts for the glass and rear hatch are positioned. Piston rod up or down? Mine were up last time I changed them and in changing them again I see instructions for the other direction, rod down.

    It is possible when buying a used vehicle that the battery was a bit abused in storage or when being detailed, run to depleted. It should, after sitting overnight with a full charge, have 12.7 or 12.8 volts without any lighting or other load.

    I recall reading an Expedition Brochure at some point where rollover safety improvements were performed at some model year. They included injecting some closed cell foam into the perimeter roof channels and the pillars A, B,C,D etc. I was going to mention, be careful welding where there is foam.

    Where the third seat brackets bolt to the body and on either side of where your jack compartment walls screw in are probably the best. You might look at the attachment points for the third seat shoulder harness. Yeah the older generations had better placements.

    If you paid $250 for a "cold Air Intake" and it draws air from under the hood, you did not get a cold air intake. The factory OEM intake draws air from under the fender where it is cooler.

    The assumption is that it is a heat shield for the exhaust system. Could it be from an intercooler pipe or other line located near the exhaust? Weird that the strapping would break like that as well. I am sure it is important. Where was it found under the car?
