Can someone tell me what and where these parts go?

I replaced the heater core on my 1998 Eddie Bauer Expy, and when I was setting the steering column back in place, these two parts fell from somewhere. I searched the manuals and searched online, but I was unable to find an answer. I am hoping someone can help me.

I haven't busted into my steering column yet so I don't have good information for you.

But at 1:46 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqvR6sf91nI there is a black something that might be your first nameless part.

Look at the blur of the dude's finger to the purple spot. Go straight up the silver metal part, past the bolt on the right, to the circular metal part with slots at the edge. Just on top of that slotted circular metal part is a black plastic thing.

Could that the the edge view of your part in the first picture?
