2019 Expedition Max - Numerous Faults - Brakes

Probably gonna need some diagnostics. Curious if you live in a Salt state where the roads get a lot of salt or near the ocean? I am leaning towards a poor ground connection someplace.

    22” to 18” winter tires

I also am going to move to 18's. Having had the 18's on the 2019 I had and now the 22's on the 2020, I like the feel of the 18's better. Plus, offroad adventures have made a mess of my 22's.

    Rookie tow question

You should be fine with the regular but honestly if you need the seating of an expedition you will be happier with a MAX than the standard. If you don't need the seating of an expedition then you may be happier with an F150. I have a 23' hybrid that seems similar in weight but mine tops out...

2023 Roof rails - missing trim pieces?

My 2019 XLT had those trim pieces but my 2020 Platinum does not have them. It seems that somewhere in the 2019 year they stopped putting them on and they have never returned. I would say yes, Ford is cheaping out on it.

    Rear brake pads worn

No idea if this is true but what I do know is once I replaced the pads on mine with new pads the excessive wear in the rear went away.

    Door Keypad upgrade?

I can't say I have had any issues with the keypad on my 2020. Seems to work the first time every time. Maybe hit the dealer up and see if they think the pad is working correctly, or maybe you are doing something not quite right with it. My experience has been great.

2020 Limited Almost No Acceleration when Cold

I haven't noticed this in my expedition but in my jeep after it sits the fluid drains out of the torque converter and fluid isn't pumped when in park, so even sitting and idling the torque converter isn't filled. So, when I put it in drive or reverse it takes a little bit for the fluid to get...

    Rear brake pads worn

This is pretty common across a lot of vehicles. My 2007 jeep wrangler is the same way. However, when you put new better pads on the rear they will last longer. I think the factory pads are low noise/low dust/organic pads and they wear really fast. Putting a good quality semi-mettalic or ceramic...

My mostly unbiased comparison - Expy vs. a week in a Grand Wagoneer

I held off buying an expedition for years waiting for the Wagoneer to come out. Circumstances put me into the ford before jeep could get their crap together. I really do like my expedition but if both were out when I purchased I would have bought the Jeep. When we had to get our second...

Order XLT vs Limited 7k Help

For what it is worth. I liked my xlt better than my platinum... I also liked the xlt with bilsteins WAY better than the CCD when it comes to towing. The leather is nice and a little easier to clean with the kids and dog but that alone wouldn't be a deal killer for me. The power running boards...

I did two things to seriously mitigate the delayed shift from gear 4 to 3

I have a delay in 3-4 and 7-8, maybe I should try this before going to the dealer to see if clearing the learned data helps. Is the OBDlink MX+ the best bet? Just curious if there are cheaper ones that work fine. I have a different obd Bluetooth module that I use on my jeep but it doesn't work...

    Moving on....

I also believe that if we had all the numbers, the percentage of issues probably isn't as high as the forum makes it out to be. All I am saying is I think there are issues with all the brands and moving to something else is probably just moving to different problems. Heck, my 2007 jeep has 230k+...

    Moving on....

I honestly don't know exactly, I am also not much of a chevy guy. I believe it was more of an issue in the first ones out, this guy at work got one of the first ones and around the year mark he said the engine was done and GM took it back and gave him a new gas one since they couldn't fix it...

    Moving on....

I wish there were good answers to finding good vehicles. Seems like they are all the same. My FIL's highlander has been in the shop more than any vehicle I have seen and the dealer seems incapable of fixing the real problem. A coworker is on his 3rd new suburban. He jumped on the new duramax...

    2h button light up

Yep, it should be on if you are in 2H. Might I also suggest a Crevice Brush Set ;) (all in jest, I have 5 kids...)
