Question: I have the Powercode Remote Start on my 2010 Expedition Limited, and the owners guide references two modes that it can work in.
First mode (set now from factory) is where you press the button for several seconds, doors lock and engine starts. You can remotely unlock the door, but the minute that you open any door (including the rear liftgate) the engine cuts off. You then have to enter the vehicle with the key and restart the engine.
Second mode is where you press the button and all of the above occurs, but you can unlock the vehicle, open the door without the engine cutting off, insert the key without touching the break pedal, turn the key to the normal "ON" position. Now you can put your foot on the brake and place the vehicle into gear. If you touch the brake pedal before inserting the key, then the motor will cut off as a safety/theft prevention.
Does anyone know how to reprogram the mode into Mode #2 without taking it to the dealer and paying them a service fee? Anyone know where I might could find this on-line somewhere? It is a real pain to have to restart the vehicle each time I use this feature to warm up the truck in the winter.
Thanks!
