So,

I've always thought a squeaking sound is been hearing since I got the truck was coming from either my fan clutch, the idler, or the tensioner. That was all the "symptoms" I'd really experienced prior to doing anything, so I thought I'd wait until I had the money and just do them all.

Well, today I was able to buy a new clutch, idler, and tensioner, and for the heck of it I replaced the belt at the same time, mind you, after 2 years of owning the truck!

I had had the thought that since its been warmer here than it ha been in a long time, I really should have heard the fan at some point but had just sluffed it off to the 5.4's having superior cooling capacity.

I never put 2 and 2 together until now about so many things my truck did. No longer do I have a slight surge in power during acceleration when it's hot out as it has been here in the pnw the last month or so, my A/C is frigid cold at idle now as it used to putter out eighty when idling, and I can actually hear the fan come in and out during acceleration and such. Plus it gives a big whoosh on startup now that it's never done since I've owned it! It does seem to have more power now that it's hot out than it did before, even if it's just consistent now.

I am a happy camper.
