This morning the dome light came on as did the door ajar lamp. The lamp would flash on & off anytime I used the left turn signal, but not the right. The lamp would also go off when I stepped on the brake pedal, but come back on when the pedal was released. Most annoying is the chime being heard a lot.

When I got to work, I expected the dome light to go out after 10-15 minutes, but 3 hours later the dome light was still on. I pulled the bulb. All the doors wer secure.

If I step on the brake the lamp goes out and if I open the door, it works as expected. Any ideas on this crazy issue?

Check the condition of the ground points behind both kick panels. Any evidence of rust, clean or relocate.

Between the dash and floor on both driver and passenger sides. It is the trim piece you kick with your shoes. You need to pull some of the door seal back to get them off. They may have a few screws also. Once the panels are off the grounds are usually towards the bottom. Most of the wires that go to them should be black.

2 weeks ago, I tried the wd40 trick...no joy. As of yesterday, it is working normal...for now. I'm not putting the lamp relay back in just yet though.
