I have a '01 Expedition XLT and I am wondering if all of the them do not have lights at the floor near driver's and passengers feet that come on with the dash light switch along with the dome light or when the door is opened?

I had older ford pickups that were equipped with these lights and I found them quite useful. Do different models of Expeditions come equipped with these lights? If so, maybe the wiring is there and they can be added?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There is no floor lighting on the 01 expedition or any of the 1st gen's However if you are interested there is a connector behind the right kick panel that you could tap into in order to get power for lights I put a blue led strip light on my passenger side and hooked it up to the connector I'll look up that information and post it sometime today

Behind the right side kick panel you will find a 16 pin connector C206 (150-10) connect a wire to pin 6 (black/light blue-wire) that is the hot/12V wire. Then connect a wire to the ground wire on the body wall. Use those two wires to connect a light too. I have also attached print 89-01 which shows the wiring circuit. I have also attached 3 pictures to give you some ideas on LED lights

bedrck46, Thank You for sharing your knowledge, providing the information and taking the time to do so. This is perfect and great info! The LED lights you installed look great! I will have to explore using LEDs as well. Thanks again.
