A couple of days ago i tried to start my 01 expedition up and the radio, dome and dash lights came on but not the engine. It won't even try to start. I have to keep the battery disconnected because that's the only way to turn off the lights and radio. I was told it was the ignition switch and I replaced that but nothing changed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I checked the wiring diagram for your year. The premium sound system has a connection to the GEM along with the interior lights.

One of the tale tell signs is a wet drivers floor board or fuse box after a good rain. If yours is wet/damp you will need to fix the windshield leak first. You might get lucky with just drying out the GEM afterwards.

Man must have been a long day when I first read your post. Missed the no start part. Sorry, sent you on a goose chase by accident.

Anytime you have a no start condition you should always check the battery voltage to make sure you have at least 12 volts.

Have you tried jumping the starter relay (solenoid) on the firewall?

Do you have a test light or multimeter?
