I have a 2001 EB Expedition AWD and my gas mileage STINKS!
I am curently getting only 10.8 MPG and that figure never changes except to go down. 2 months ago I was at 12.1 MPG.
Are there any suggstions as how to improve my declining MPG? Is it a fuel filter issue? Do I need a tune up (99K miles)? Clean the fuel injectors? Change the air filter ... all of the above???

Also my driver side power window has been acting funny ... when it is hot outside, my window won't open ... after a while driving with the AC on the window works, is this a motor issue or possibly a fuse issue?

I greatly appreciate any input you may have.

Thanks,

Dan

I would go through and give a good tune-up. Plugs, filters, ect ect... On the window I would imagine you have a bad plug connection in the door or a faulty switch. Those are the two things that could be heat to cold related. Also, it may not be the heat as much as the humidity.

The driver's side widow gets the most workout in the life of the car. My guess is that the motor is getting dirty and worn.

It is a relatively easy swap if you got the tools. Try an auto scrap yard and get one from one of the back doors. They are usually used much less and will still have lots of life left. :)

You may also want to lube the rubber slides that guide the window with some silicone lube.

I certainyl agree with geesetag and suggest a complete tuneup. Don't go chasing problems until you got all the basic stuff 100%, then check your mileage.

How's your tire pressure??
