Up until last week, it only did this once, maybe twice. But then it did it 4 times in 2 days. Here's the scoop.

New 2104 Limited. 3500 miles now. Every once and while, when coming to a stop, the truck will feel like it's in neutral, and if on a hill, actually roll a bit, then the transmission, with a loud clunk, will catch and get into first or whatever. Until it catches, if I hit the gas, I rev but go nowhere.

And when it bangs into gear, it bucks the truck a bit. If I wasn't holding the break, I'd be worried I could actually launch into a car in front of me if I was within a few feet.

Now over the last few days, the frequency is increasing. But even worse this morning, when leaving my street, when I hit the gas, it just kept bucking like it either couldn't get into gear, or was misfiring. Kind of left me stranded in the middle of ht intersection until it recovered and then took off. Not safe. This is very frustrating on a brand new $50k truck.

I'm hoping it's just a programming update, but I'm curious to see if anyone else has hear of or experienced this.

Thanks.

Good morning steveg_nh,

Have you been to your Ford Dealer for this concern? You may locate one here. In addition, please send me a PM with your full name, phone number, VIN, and dealership; I'll look into possible options on my end.

Hi Todd, thanks for replying. I am going in two weeks for the first service, and I'll have them look at this. On another forum, I provided my info to another Ford Service Rep. She was going to inform the regional service rep as well when I go in.

I'm 99% sure this has been resolved. There was a TSB out there for an issue with a valve body/baffle in the transmission. It was causing a rattling I was hearing, but also causing fluid flow issues or something. I was assured no damage occurred, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Honestly, Ford field customer service has been right beside me for this whole thing, and it really felt good to know I didn't have to feel like I was all alone after spending so much money on the truck. This is my first Ford, but even with the problem, I really feel like I made the right decision.
