We are moving into a new house that has a 450 foot gravel driveway and after a lot of research I've come to the conclusion that a light receiver mount plow is the best option.

So, I'm in the market for a front receiver hitch but I don't want to lose my tow hooks or have the hitch stick out from the front of the vehicle like I have seen some mounts on F-150's.

Does anyone have one, and if you do could you post pictures please.

Thanks.

There don't seem to be too many options available. It looks like the Curt hitch protrudes very little. You also have the option of putting the tow hooks back once the hitch mount is in place. e.g. https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-trailer-hitch-2010-f150-31368.aspx

There are some pics of a similar model mounted on an F150 also: https://www.etrailer.com/Front Mount Hitch/Ford/Expedition/2007/C31068.html?vehicleid=1365050

I imagine it has to stick out a little.

This is a better video as it uses the exact same hitch that would be used on a 2011 Expedition (not sure what year you have). https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-front-mount-trailer-hitch-ford-150-c31068.aspx

Thank you for the reply.

So what would the part number be for a 2008 Expedition? I'm assuming it would be the one that mounts to the tow hook mounts?

**edit**

Ok I think I got it. Apparently its part number:
31068 - Currently, it replaced the following parts... I can still get the 31368, but the 31057 looks like it hands down REALLY low.
Replaces 31057
Replaces 31368

31068 is the same one used by the 2011 Expedition and on the F150 in the last video. It seems that model allows you to remount the tow hooks over the hitch mount's frame.

I ended up getting the 31368 and it was exactly what I was looking for. It does not hang down really low, and also does not protrude out the front of the vehicle.

Does the bumper lip flex upward enough to use the hitch or will you have to cut it ?

In my specific install I have no problem pushing the bumper up slightly to clear the hitch. That is also one of the reasons I decided not to cut my bumper either.
