I have a 2007 Expedition and the directional knob of the AC isn't working. When I move the knob the air always flows out of the same position. First it was only the AC vents and after taking it to the shop it worked for a few tries and now only the defrost vents. The shop says the blend door actuator is failing, but my warranty doesn't cover it. My temperature knob still works fine with changing from hot to cold. Any idea what I should replace first? Thanks.

actuator clicking noise

OK, so I replaced the directional door actuator and now everytime I start the vehicle there is a clicking noise for about a second then it stops. The air flow directional selector now works, but the noise is annoying. When I swapped the actuator it was keyed so I had to put them in the new one in the same position as the old one. Is there a calibration that I need to do so that the system knows exactly what position the actuator is in or could this be a damaged directional door? Thanks.

help needed please

Are there any updates on this? The clicking is still there and if I select anything other than max A/C it clicks every few seconds. Is there a way to tell if the gears on the door itself are messed up?
