Still confused

What exactly is a still plate? Once I get the kick plate off is it the bolted on black metal bracket that covers the shrouded wire bundle? If so, is the magenta wire in the bundle? When I took my kickplate off, I saw a black relatively thick wire, a speaker wire, and a bundle underneath the bracket. Also, the original post was mentioning it being near the A pillar. Not sure what that is either. I think I am making this harder than it has to be.

Another one fixed thanks to this thread, unbelievable !!! Just wanted to add this also fixed my seat heat controls, 4x4, rear lift hatch, radio won't shut off problems... Thanks again for taking the time to write down your experience , without it, I was going the complete wrong direction, and probably would have spent a fortune at ford... Just want to add that the placement of the wires in question were purple/violet, on the floor, so I needed the sill plate as well as the kick plate off, I got confused for a bit.. But whoever this helps out next.. They are the 4 purple wires sliced together, on the floor... Thanks again

FYI the kick panel is the panel behind the emg brake pedal. the sill plate is that plastic piece that covers the carpet at the door entrance that you most likely step on every time you get into or out of the expy the a pillar is the metal part that runs along the left side of the windshield from roof to the floor My descriptions may not be 100% prefect But I think you will understand

Violet wire fixed my problem

Thank you so much for posting this fix. I had an appointment at the dealer for tomorrow. From what the service manager said when I called I expect they would have had hours of troubleshooting and possibly replacing multiple sensors.

I dug into the wiring harness after removing the kick plate on the floor next to the driver's seat. I fount the violet wire, pulled it gently to get a better look and it broke off in my hand. I had a bullet crimp-on connector and there was enough slack in the wire that was all I needed.

Took about 1/2 hour all told. So glad I found this forum.

Hi I'm looking for the violet wires your talking about but I can't find them, could you send me a pic of where they are located? I would really appreciate it. I have replaced the alternator, battery and battery terminals and now it's just the advancetrac that is giving me problems. If it's as simple as a couple of wires that would be great. Thanks for any help

you will need to remove the drivers side kick panel and sill plate the look at the wire bundle in the area that I marked on the attached print. This print was sent to another member as he had the same problem and he reported back that was where he found the wires. You will have to remove the tape that is around the wire bundle and do some probing to find the wires When you find them and make repairs Solder the wires and insulate them to prevent further problems

Tx thats mean that we have to check the cables from the plate to the kick panel connector to verify continuity interesting, tx a lot...
