I praked the truck six months ago, it was running perfectly. I used it a couple months ago to unstick another truck It was nearly out of gas.

Now it will not start, I added five gallons of gas, it's parked on level ground.

Raw fuel poured in the intake got it run for a few soconds.

Obviously I have a problem with fuel flow from the tank. But I thought the circumstances of it runnign fine and then not running a short time later, while sitting with a nearly empty tank might point to some specific culprit.

THanks

Have someone start the expy while you listen to the fuel tank to see if you hear the pump run it will only run a few seconds if it doesn't start. Or try banging on the tank while someone trys to start it. Also could be a clogged fuel filter. Check to see if you have voltage to the pump.

There's a fuel pump reset button under the kickplate - passenger side - kind of by where your knees would hit. Have you tried that?

Hey, I'm back. THanks for the insight. I actually got some very useful PMs

Here is the conclusion for some future use who comes looking for insight into fuel pump problems.

The iniertia switch is really handy for troubleshooting. Once i found it i was able to check power to the pump. It was there so I know i had a bad pump. Really sucked becasue of where the truck is (over mud) And in my circle of friends I'm the guy people call when they need a bigger vehicle so I had no option but to fix it in place.

I really could not drop the tank but i could remove the aft strp and loosended the front strap and I was able to get the pump out with the tank in place.

I bought the cheap pup from Rock Auto instead of buying the whole assembly. CHanged the pump, put it back in nad fired the truck up.

I was able to drive it out of the mud and then I put the tank traps back on after I moved it ot dry ground.

Mission accomplshied.
