How many miles do you have on your Gen 1?

I have 174 and change but I've had a new transmission. My friend says anything over 100 is alot for that engine (i have the 4.6)

I have a strong 4.6 with over 240 on it. I've seen expys with the same engine with close to and over 600k. Take care of anything and it will last a great while. I think your friend was mistaken.

I would say back in the 70's maybe even 80's 100k was considered to be about the life of a car.

Now 100k and there are finally broken in... lol..

OK... maybe not but 200k + is very common with todays vehicles if well maintained.

after installing The 5.4 it now has 37,000 miles still a baby . Getting it ready for the 60lb fuel injectors pump next comes the tune for 60lb fuel injectors 340 fuel pump next .Thanks Tom

I have almost 128,700 miles on mine I just got it and it runs great. I have 5.4 idk the trans with 4X4.

The '99 EB 4X4 I had until March of this year had about 170K on it. Great truck. Nothing "major" ever went wrong with it. I found the key to happiness was replacing all the plug coils though - got tired of "issues" related to coils going bad. Upgraded to an '11 EL.
