probably wishful thinking

hey y'all, I am looking to upgrade the stereo system in my E.B. due to not being able to use MP3's and so fourth. I know to replace it with an aftermarket radio it is very difficult to get the aftermarket wired up to use the stock amps and speakers. So I was wondering, since there are a few parts of the 2003 expie that cross over to the 2002, does anyone know or has anyone tried to hook up the 2003 E.B. radio to a 2002 harness? Will that work? Really im just being lazy and dont want to re-wire all my speakers and subs... because I may as well replace them all with better equipment and that would get expensive. Im just getting sick of MP3 over FMtransmitter...

I went on ebay and got a FM transmitter that plays off sd card, usb, or a line in. Works pretty good for 8 bucks.

They sell a plug-in that color codes to the correct wires. Maybe I am missing the point of the question but it was really easy to install for me. My deck plays using a USB cable on my phone and works with all of the speakers in the truck.

Just look up ford aftermarket radio kit and your model year and you will find it.

I was under the impression the the aftermarket harnesses didnt include the proper hookups for the Mach audio system, if they do this is a non issue as this will be easy.. I will have to check it out. Thanks for the info!

okay new question, upon my research I found a number of people complaining about a popping from an aftermarket radio after it is installed to the factory amp. some are suggesting the reason for this is the amp requires a 5 volt input where most aftermarket radios are 12v. anyone replace their radio with the factory amp and have this problem or should I not worry about this?

I had an aftermarket radio in my old SVT focus. It had a factory sub not hooked up. I hooked it up with no popping and some real nice bass for a factory sub. I was very happy with it.

i have an 04 with pioneer avic-d3 nab/bt/dvd unit with the factory amps for doors and sub still engaged...never had a problem...shouldnt worry about what the specs are for the system as most aftermarket speakers are going to be minimum 60 watts rms and i guarantee the mach system isnt doing that output rms...more like MAX...highly suggest replacing the speakers as u already stated as well

for the pop...keep searching becuz someone found out why it does that and had the fix as well...
