Yes the ebay keys work. I have three of them.
Bought them off ebay, got them cut at the hardware store. Then programmed them myself.

If you've got 2 keys that work, you can do them yourself, I think the instructions are in the owner's manual. Only got one, then a locksmith or dealer will have to program it to the vehicle

i only have one working factory key.

so that means I have to goto a locksmith to get it made?

Home depot sounded like they can get it made too. they have keys with chips there.

With only one key, I cant buy the chipped key on ebay and bring it to home depot?

I only needed 1 working programmed key.
And I've programmed 3 additional keys that I purchased off ebay and got cut at true value off that key.

bannger can you please shed some light?

how did you do that? also can you provide link to the ebay key?

i've read a few places, and in the owners manual that you need 2 working keys.

how did you manage to make it work with only 1 key?

local lock smith is going to cost 75 bucks. dealership said 200.

First thing I've done on my last 3 vehicles ( Enclave, Expedition, T-Bird) was buy a cheap key on Ebay, get it cut at my local locksmith, program it myself, and put it up for a spare. I've always had to have 2 keys to program the spare key except a 2001 Toyota Spyder.
