Hi there, i am working on the last of my LED conversion on my 2003 Exp and want to bond a green LED strip to my rear deck for better visibility at night and to match my green interior lights. but my go to adhesive GOOP, didn't stick to the rear hatch plastic at all. it is the first time that it hasn't worked on something. there must be a mold release agent on the plastic, because i have bonded plastic to plastic with GOOP tons of times before and it works amazing. I even used parts cleaner to clean the plastic very well before applying the goop and left it to bond for several hours with clamps and heavy weight on it. It just pulls right off the rear hatch but sticks firm to the LED strip.

does anyone have any suggestions for an adhesive that will bond plastic to the interior plastic? thanks

I've had good luck with Shoe Goo. As long as the surface is not shiny smooth, i believe it'll work.

thanks for that info, i will pick up some shoe goo and try it. I was also thinking of sanding the area to knock off the gloss and the crinkle finish to promote adhesion. So i hope it works. Thanks
Any other adhesives anyone can think of if that doesn't work would be great ...

I wanted to say what i ended up using for this. I sanded it area with 40 grit paper and knocked off all the crinkle finish and used goop to attach the led strip to read deck panel and it had held fine so far will do an update if there is any separation issues in the future.
