last time i talked to JDM they told me that edelbrocks tune just doesn't quite work. I wanted them to do my 2011 and they told me they were working on installing one.. i think for many months tuning it. Not too sure if i'd do a edelbrock, as much as i want it.

Thanks rayt. That is pretty discouraging. I would think that a shop like JDM would just do their own tune on the dyno to get it running right.

I just realized that I emailed Nick at JDM and he offered to sell me the eforce without the tuner and then sell me the SCT XCAL4 with a custom tune to work with the 2005. If i can confirm that the eforce will bolt on I may go this route. Still not sure I am confident in this setup, but I am getting closer.

I am referring to the increase in torque at lower RPMs with a supercharger. In the case of the Edelbrock E-force they show peak torque being reached at around 3750RPM and the torque curve is quite flat. Maybe I am thinking about this wrong, but I would think that with 500ft/lbs of torque at 3500RPMS I should be in much better shape on most grades.

on a dyno ive tested factory 3v cams and they all made peak torque at 3300RPM and ford listed 3600RPM.
I too heard that edelbrock tunes don't work well.
and with the Eforce system wont that sucker interfere with your firewall or damn close to it?

I would do some research and find out what blower you want to use, personally I would go KB or whipple, you can get large displacement blowers to fit the 5.4 very easy and the 5.4 likes to make power under boost. The tune is easy enough especially now that HP Tuners supports the 5.4/6R80 setup. I've got their suite on my 2013 and it's kick @ss.
