Hi to all i almost finish the installation of this radio and looks and sound great, but my doubt is i buy a adapter to connect the factory hardness in that aftermarket hardness theres a illumination cable "orange" and the dimmer cable "orange and white" the radio only have one "orange and white" and says lights or something like that, i just connect the orange of the hardness that says ilumination, now when i turn off lights or cortesy light the radio gets more brithness when i turn on the brithness decrease thats normal or i have to use the dimmer cable? im just scare that the radio get damage for a bad connection, i cannot find a answer online, please any advise going to be apreciate.
Tx.

That is operating correctly. When you turn on your head lights the radio should dim a little bit like your dash lights dim when turning on your lights. This is to help you keep your night vision and not distract the driver with the bright light from the radio. When you turn your lights off the radio should get brighter again.

These 2 wires (orange and the orange/white) and the day night functions are 3 separate things that all work together so to speak. The orange with as stated above is for dimming when headlights are tuned on and full brightness when off. The level of dim is sometimes controlled in the day/night functions but usually independently in the units main settings.

The orange/white dimmer will give your deck the same level of Brightness in the buttons and back lighting but not usually the screen as your factory dash.

And the day night functions of your nav control the colour scheme of the nav its self independently from the rest of the units operation system.
