Anyone ever put anything like Line-X or bed liner on their plastic molding / skirting. I am so tired of my 2005's being all faded.

If you have done it and it works can you let me know what you did for prep and what you put on it.

Thanks.

Krylon fusion works great on plastic pieces. And when it comes to prep for bedlining, I would sand and clean it really well then apply adhesion promoter.

I have been doing the bedlined EB trim for a couple days. It's a pita, but looks great IMO.

there are a lot of ppl on here...in the past...so theyre not active anymore that has sprayed bedliner...plastidip...and other surface protection on them...i would highly suggest to get it painted...unless you frequent gravel roads

I'm one of those plastdip guys.... I'd bedline it if I could for a more permanent solution, but that damn stuff is so cheap, and so quick top use, I put that **** on everything....

It's lasted on my Expy for 4 years, my Jeep for 3 years, and I just did the bumpers and mirror on the F150 today... what a difference $10 and an hour makes.... I couldn't stand looking at the rust, and bubbling plastic anymore.. It's just a work truck for hauling water and junk, but it was hard to look at ..lol..

Here's an example of what the results were... I'm not saying plastdip is for you or anyone else, but it makes an immediate improvement... Lasts for as long as you want it on there, takes minutes to do with no prep other than a little rubbing alcohol, and costs like $6 a can.. Plus if you want to change it... just peel it off... I used 2 full cans to do four coats... the bumpers were done over paint, but the mirrors were that cheap plastic chrome.. so that would give you an idea of how it would look over the plastic trim... I'm probably going to do the wheel trim next... Just have to get down to the USA to buy some more of it.. (it's $20 a can up her in Canada)

So if you want immediate change, do the plastidip. Takes an hour or so, and virtually no cash... at least it will look nice until you peel it off, and do whatever you are going to do to it.

Mind you... the result is a black matte finish... which I guess is what you are trying to get away from.... so disregard my last post ..lol...

I've used all of these and aside from price and prep the real difference would be preference. I really like the look that bedliner gives and it's extremely durable.
