Hey guys, need some help here. I have an 03 expedition and the hood release cable is really tight. I popped the hood but now the cable won't go back and my hood won't close all the way . I tried spraying different things in there to loosen it up but no luck. It's 6 degrees outside and I don't have a garage haha. There's no ice or build up in there either.

The lube that is in the cable is probably frozen. Wait for it to warm up after the engine has run - hood closed as much as possible of course.

It should say mi...I'm about 3hrs from Canada .. there's moisture getting in the cable somehow...I had it inside at work for maybe 1hr and it worked fine...1hr outside (about -3) and I needed windshield washer fluid and the thing froze up again ..

almost sounds like there is a cut in the outer covering of the cable.
See if you can find anything and then spray so silicon spray on the inner cable

I replaced my cable and the new one still sticks. Been spraying the crap out of the return spring also, seems to help a little but always takes a few tries to get it to hook
