So, I know another guy on here did Rancho Ready Lift struts and added spacers on top (tried to PM but no answer so far) - also on an '04 like mine - but I started to install mine and I'm pretty sure the CV shaft or at least the boot will hit the bottom of the strut body if I add the spacers.

I didn't have time to put everything together and take it apart if there was a clearance issue so I just put in the struts for now. Hoping someone else has tried this before I find out the hard way it won't work. It would be nice to have a bit more lift though.

Don't do it, it won't work. You may be referring to me or maybe not but I've already tried this only to get frustrated at many different things. First, my ball joints were at an angle that i did not like at all, the upper control arm rested on the spring the whole time and the truck rode like crap no matter how much i tried to dial in the shocks. My truck bounced so much driving around that 2 days later i removed the Rancho RLs and went back to stock with coil spacers.

OMG good thing I didn't got this route. I had asked this earlier and no one answered me so I was just going to go forth and do it. what would you suggest to lift an Expedition?

i have just the rancho quicklifts, they dont seem that bad, although it is somewhat bouncy. I also did some LT-C tires while i was at it, so i can't really tell the cause hah.

I have Rancho Quick Lift struts and 2" front, 1.5" rear spacers. This setup works well and yes at full articulation there is very minor control arm lower spring saddle contact but it doesn't present an issue.

It was FatNick's ride that I was looking at. It seemed to work for him.

I didn't notice any bounce with the struts, spacers shouldn't change that as far as I can see. I think the ride is actually pretty decent dialed in to 5.

I was worried about the axle shaft or at least the CV boot actually contacting the bottom of the strut body. The clearance was pretty minimal.

How much total lift does that give you? There are several people running a 3x2 with no problems. But I would not recommend going more that 3 inches. It puts albeit of strain on your front end. I was thinking that route before going to rize.

Fat Nick was using the Ranchos and a Daystar spacer lift, I think 2.75", he was going for a full 4"of lift. He's a service manager for Firestone so he said he wasn't worried about premature part wear. The last time he had updated about it he hadn't had any problems with anything at that point, which I think was 3-4 months after the install. He seemed to be happy with the combo.

The Rancho's make the truck handle awesome and the selectability works as well. I dial them down to soft for offroading and put them in the middle of the setting for daily driving. My lift overall is 1.25" from the Rancho's plus 2" spacer in front. About 1" from the Rancho's in the rear plus a 1.5" spacer. That is about the max I would go otherwise you will get progressively more sever contact between the upper control arm and the lower spring saddle at full articulation.
