Sup guys... been lurking and learning for a while now. Have an 01 4.6 xlt 2wd in upstate SC. It's recently become my dd and needs some love. This is my second expy. My first was a 97 eb 5.4 4x4 that was possibly my first time I could really enjoy mashing mud, snow and anything that got in my way. I've had this 01 for over 8 years now and it continues to pay me back every time I turn her over.
Always nice to find a group of enthusiasts that take pride in sharing knowledge and learning together. I really enjoy seeing all the mods and upgrades everyone is doing these days.
My 01 needs suspension, fluids flushed, tires and a tune. Flipping the fuel filter this weekend. Recently sprayed the maf sensor, new batt, replaced headlights, wipers, rotors, brake pads and drive shaft u-joints.
My last tank avg mpg was ~13. It's an 01 4.6, shouldn't I get a little better on average? I just filled up with ethanol free and can of seafoam. I think I can already see improvements in the economy but could be placebo... time will tell.
I'm very open to ideas, improvements, suggestions, questions and discussions. I value busted knuckle consensus and look forward to learning more about keeping this ol' ford clean, looking and running like a top.
