Unfortunately buddy this is not the case. Right now I'm working 7 10's . Then I shall take about a weeks beer break, sober up then start the lift and brakes. Speaking of beer breaks did you get your lift on?

Well gonna attempt a spark plug change today. Figure I better get this out of the way before the lift or I wont be able to reach them. I'm only 5'8" Wish me luck. Really don't want to do this but I most definitely am not going to pay the dealer $450:321:

Managed to get the pass side COP's off without too much hassle. Got the carb cleaner handy in case I have to use the soak method.

Not too much debris.Gonna try to shop vac it out instead of air first.

Well rain keeps chasing me inside but passenger side is complete. Really wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Old plugs don't look too bad at all. Not for 94k. Makes me think someone was in here before me.

I really hate this stuff.I always manage to get it all over me somehow.

Cross thread insurance.

One thing of note. I don't have a 9/16" plug wrench and I noticed that my regular deep wells have a pretty large inside bevel and only grip the top half of the plug nut. You can see in the above pic of the 4 plugs that one tried to round off on me. I hated to but I ground off a fraction of the socket to get rid of the bevel. Better than a rounded off plug in the head.

I was afraid to tackle this after all the horror stories but after the dealer quote of $450 I was doing it myself no matter what happened. They try to take advantage and scare you with this plug thing no matter what year you own.I explained to him that I'm not stupid, its an '09.I heard something lame like "yeah but" as I was walking out the door. Piss off ********** I'm doing this even if I have to buy new heads. Anyways on the '08 and up 5.4's it's no different than changing plugs in any other aluminum head engine. do 'em cold, dont let the squeaks and creaks scare you while they're breaking loose and just take your time. You'll be fine. I do recommend getting a 9/16" spark plug socket though. The perfect setup for an Expy is a 1/4" ratchet,3" extension and a 7mm socket for all 8 COP bolts. For the 2 rear plugs a 3/8" ratchet,6" and 3" extension and the 9/16" plug socket is the ticket. For the front 6 cyl I just substituted another 6" for the 3" extension and that worked great.
