Hi, I owe a 2004 4x4 ford expedition 5.4 ltr engine with 185000miles.
When driving around 30 to 40 mph I can hear a roaring sound from the rear end.
Above 40 mph the noice stops.
I took the car to the shop and they said that the rear differencial hub needs to be changed and they quoted me $3300 for just the part.
On a privious post I read that the 2004 models make a noice in the resr end and there is a fluid called Friction Modifier that can be added to the differencial and clear up the problem.
Any feedbacks on this are welcomed.
