Hey guys I'm new to the forum.

I did a motor swap for my customers 4.6 liter expedition due to metallic paint looking oil and violent noise upon operation.

After swapping the motor It sounds like half the sound has gone and the rest was coming from the flex plate/starter/trans. (Just installed new starter).

We pulled the starter, inspected everything and it was fine.

I joyously removed everything that I spent hours on installing and pulled the trans out determined to find the source of the noise. Then I realized the torque converter was a little difficult to rotate, and is IMPOSSIBLE TO PULL OUT!!

Has anyone ever had trouble pulling the torque converter from the trans? Even if it's sitting on a bench?

Thanks for the help,

No, they usually fall off when you are not looking and haven't secured them to the case. Good chance the trans pump is shot now.
