Well my 2000 Expo i recently purchased has been great, except for one thing.

I didnt get a chance to have it taken to a mechanic before hand to check the compression and now i think i made a bad choice!

I will press the gas and the rpm's will go as normal, but i'll reach certain spots where the tranny wont shift but the rpm's will drop like it just shifted, they will go back up and THEN the tranny shifts. It almost feels like some sort of hesitation in the engine.

Any thoughts of what this might be? I'm hoping it doesnt mean the death of my expo!!! Don't think i could stomach making a car payment for car that's DOA:nono:

So, your driving. You come to your shift point and the rpms drop, but you lose power. then the rpms jump back up to what they were before and then it shifts?

Are the rpms different in the 'fake' shift as the actual shift? Are you sure its not deciding to shift into a gear to high? If that was the case it could be the TP sensor.

The cheapest thing you can do right now is change the
trans fluid and filter, by changing the fliud I mean all the fluid
by power flushing it,change the fuel filter also.

I'll try the flushing option first as it it the cheapest option. I'll let you know how that goes.

Another thing you could always try is to reset the ECU. Could be the shift mapping in the ECU is just a bit out of whack. Just unplug the negative side of the battery overnight and it'll go through the learning process again.
