Hello all. Let me give you the background on my issue. When the vehicle is started after sitting for a while I have no whine at all. But when it warms up is when the whine starts. Its normally between 1800 to 2500 rpms between 30 - 40 mph. It sounds like the whine is coming from under the hood but someone mentioned that it might be the rearend. Someone else told me that it could be a transmission issue. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks. Also I have about 145000 miles on it and I'm not ready to get rid of it!!!!

When you say whine...is it high pitched? has this always happened since you owned it? maybe take a video while driving to give us an example.

Yes its a high pitched whine. It started when I was driving back from Alabama to Virginia. I haven't lost any power its just that annoying whine that irks me. I was thinking that it may not be transmission related because the truck still shifts like it should. I'll try to do a video and see if I can capture the sound.

LOL. I was actually thinking of one of those. If they sound like that I don't want one!! Its funny you say that though because I installed a K&N intake. Could that be the issue? It only does it when the vehicle is warm. Do you think it may be a leak or something somewhere. Hell I don't know!!! I'm lost.

Check your vent line to the valve cover. And double check lines. Where is it generally coming from? Is it speed related and rpm related, or just one of the two, or neither?

If you installed a K&N intake it could be a that. It could be one of the lines that attatch to the intake tube, or it could be something stuck on your filter as well.

Actually it turned out to the the front left wheel bearing. What sucks is that I just had them done about 2 months ago so I gotta take it back to Goodyear to have them redo it. That sucks.
