Yeah I knew the tow was going to hurt, the one time I had to get towed off of the expressway in my Land Rover it was amazing how much it was going to cost. Luckily I had road side through my insurance company and they took care of everything.

Check with Auto Parts City out in Gurnee (847) 244-7171 They were always my go to junk yard. Awesome guys out there. They always had good prices and good parts. I picked up a 5.0 explorer motor for my MGB and I got to test drive it before I bought it.

For me it would be time for a V10 and a 5spd :D

So what are your plans? Rebuild yours, or take a chance on used, or pay for Reman.

Buy used, and while its out replace chains and phasers. Rebuilding the current one isn't worth it too much sludge and metal shavings in the oil pan tells a story.

Oh damn, that's nothing. I think that would be my last Ford ever.

Ehh thought about it but it's cheaper to repair this on than to go buy another one with its own set of problems.
Also previous owner never did any maintenance work just put gas in and go for all these years.

Good looking out, I'll give them a call and see what they got to offer.

And no to the v10 or 5 speed, keeping it simple and stock I need it for work (cargo room and towing) the mpg's already suck enough with a v8 and my G is manual... I don't really enjoy shifting gears in traffic especially coming home from work all exhausted and crappy.

I understand my Land Rover is a stick and so is the MGB.

They have always done me and my co-workers right at APC. I miss that place.

I figured with only 132k on the clock is was a DPO (dumb previous owner) issue.

Well I figure I might as well share this...

On the shoulder after it shut off

15 hours later, after it was towed home and many failed attempts at restarting I did get it to fire up surprisingly

Finally... In the mids of all this

At 132K you shouldn't need to do much else, but I suppose if previous owner was an extreme case like my parents (oil change once every 1-2 years, ignore leaking valve cover gasket for 3 years, etc.) then that's another story. In any case, best of luck with it.

A locked up motor rarely is an easy fix. But till he tears it down and finds the culprit, who knows, would be nice if it is simple!

Didn't have the time to inspect the cause but I did take another video, starts out fine then the knock develops later. Also starts with oil pressure then it also slowly disappears
