Interior lights

Just got a 2001 Eddie B 5.4 when I unlock it or have the doors opwn all the intrerior lights and running board lights work. The problem is they will not come on when doors are closed and I press the buttons on them or when I turn the dimmer switch up. The dash lights do dim and get brighter though. Are there two different circuts here?

I should have said I did that all look ok. I can not figure out why they work with doors open or when I unlock with the clicker but will not work turning on dimmer switch or pressing the buttins

Very possible that the main light switch is not making contact when you move it to the on position

Can you read and understand wiring diagrams

You're in the south so you should know the redneck method........ just open the door while in motion.
