ford def stole the doors from the gms. my guess...to make the expy as quiet or wuieter than the gm trucks since they use "in laid" doors on all their trucks. i can see why though, the gms are a bit quieter than the ford counterparts.

What does this even mean?

Got an up-close and personal look at a 2018 prototype this weekend. Its a very impressive truck and looks much better in person than it does in pictures.

Just seems Ford cannot come out with their own original redesigned models. The '18 looks just like the new Suburbans. And the F250/F350 looks like a Silverado in some ways. Glad I got the '16 before the design change. Not impressed by 2018 model

Whats wrong with it looking like the chevy? I love the way the tahoe looks. Best looking SUV IMO, the problem is they are junk. So a higher quality SUV that looks like the tahoe? i am going to buy the 2018 no doubt.

Heres some interesting facts for the 18:

- fx4 package is comin back
- 2nd row leg room up but 1st and 3rd row down
- 9.6in of ground clearnance(nav specs)
- reverse tilt mirrors are comin back(nav specs)
- expy std seats are now 6 way(guess to keep the price down)

I'm a single guy and while I've got lots of room up front to stretch my legs, I never would have bought my truck had I not been able to stretch out completely. After two ACL's and 15 scope jobs all to my left knee....being able to stretch isn't a want for me, it's a "need".

I'm surprised that they didn't keep the front as it is and add a little more to the 3rd row since it's a "lost seat" anyway. I keep it upright but often need to drop them to bring more than a half dozen grocery bags home. It look like all the manufacturers are in a rush to show everyone that they have tons of 2nd row room...but at the expense of the 1st row?!?

I Don't know what your area dealers are offering, but in most of the South East the dealers are are getting $7000 rebates from Ford with some smaller $1000 add ons, and in some areas like Nashville its closer to $11000 on the 2017's ( yet Louisville where they are built is like $2250?). I was looking at new 2017's but had a hard time finding a limited 300a package Limited with BLIS in the colors that the wife wanted. Ended up with a super low mileage 2016 Kingranch. Between the rebates and many dealer starting at dealer invoice for the pricing, there are some awesome deals on the 2017's.

We had a 2016 limited Explorer that had all the high tech features on it, and to be honest, we are digging the Expedition more than the Explorer so far. The Trim, softtouch plastics, and build quality is alot higher, yet does have 80% of the high tech features the Explorer did. Wife only really misses the front end camra that was part of the never used self parking feature. THe 2018 looks like an over stuffed Explorer and has most of the electronics from it as well.

Tough call if you like the stylizing of the 2018, vs the big savings on the 2017's
