Compressor not turning if I shut engine off after driving enough to get engine hot, and restart on any day over about 90°. If I leave it running it’ll stay cold but the second I turn it off and restart hot air only. Fine on days below 80-85°?

You may have a restriction in the system causing the compressor to automatically shut off during hot days. Have a reputable ac shop check it.

When the system isn't working (better with a "cold" engine) you check for power at the fuse then the ac compressor connection. Engine running, ac set to max. If there isn't power at the compressor you follow the wires back to the source checking for voltage at each connector or splice. At some point you will have power on one side of a wire or connection and none on the other.
If you have the electronic control ac, run the diagnostic routine first. A failing EATC module can kill the system at any time or temp.

I’ve done that. The thing I can’t get into my brain is there’s no problem as long as the temperature is appx 85° or less it works just fine. But when I get into the 90’s and shut it off it’ll just blow hot, usually til the next morning. It’s got to be something maybe under the hood that is affected by heat. I’m thinking what docraymund said makes sense. Unless there’s a relay under there that gets stuck when hot?
