Sagging rear - suspension or new hitch

I was able to find a website that gave me this. So it does appear that I do have the Heavy Duty Trailer option, but do not have the Load Leveling Suspension.

Thats good news. You're tongue weight is too high. That means your ball is too high. Here's a great video:

Can anyone shine some light on why without the HD tow package they are limited to 6600? I don't believe mine had that but it's rated at 9,000 pounds towing cap and from what I can find from 07-14 they all could tow 9,000-9,200 pounds no matter what trim or options... what changed? I have also noticed the GVWR is less on the 15-17... I don't know why... chassis change??

HD tow package has:

• Oversized radiator
• Transmission oil cooler
• Oil cooler

So I plugged mine in and I don't see an HD tow package but it says my trucks max trailer weight is 9,000 pounds with a weight distributing hitch... did the 5.4 have a big enough radiator to handle it stock, is that why it changed? It's also telling me I have an engine block heater and a Heavy Duty alternator... wha? My bad looks like it has a "towing prep package" maybe that's the option.

No it will say HD Tow Package. Do you have the round 7 pin connector near the hitch?

If you look inside the grille you will see the oil cooler and the trans cooler. If you don't have those then your expedition is only rated for standard towing. You can install them yourself if you don't have them.

Did you put your VIN into the FordEtis website? You'll have to register (free) as an independent servicer to see the build sheet.

No your stock capacity is 6000 lbs. you need the HD towing package to get to 9000 lbs.
