I test drove one yesterday, 124k miles on it and I was unimpressed with the pickup from a dead start.
My '02 EB Exploder 4.6 will run off and leave it.

Is it the rear end or the way the transmission is set up. I may drive it again today and see how it feels manually selecting the gears.

Theyre not speed demons, but hardly slow.

Could turn off traction control, maybe the tires got shit grip and its throttling too much?

Well I did a google search and found multiple complaints about 5.4 trucks with same issue ranging from coils, spark plugs, maf dirty, fuel pump, fuel filters and clogged cats also Neutral Safety Switch/Range Sensor.

I can do my own work, but should I bring this to the sellers attention, for a price reduction?

The Expedition with the 3V 5.4L while not the most powerful motor amongst modern SUVs certainly holds its own and should pull away from your Explorer with the 2V 4.6. Does it feel sluggish?

Yes, I can pull out from a dead stop and mash it down,, it slowly builds speed and not really pulling me into the seat.

When I go to buy it this evening I will see if temperature is a factor. I also have to see how to turn the air bags back on.

I also have to see how to turn the air bags back on.

With the truck running, in park, and the rear hatch / glass closed - press the middle SETUP button a few times until air suspension is displayed in the middle of the gauge cluster. The RESET button then toggles it between ON and OFF.

If all is working, when you turn it on you should hear a slight motor running sound from the passenger front corner area. Its not loud but can be heard with the radio and HVAC off. Wouldn't hurt to take a tape with you to measure rear wheel gap before and after. Take the truck for a quick spin and see if it raises or lowers as needed.

If you buy it, try to make a mental note to turn off the rear air suspension before raising the vehicle - such as tire change or rotation, before it goes onto a lift for service, or before attaching a trailer.

If the rear air suspension is in-op, consider holding off until the seller gets is fixed.

Well after 2 weeks of driving I have found out it runs GREAT when the motor is cold, but when it gets up to normal temps is when it is sluggish.

New spark plugs and a K&N filter. No engine lights.

I am going to get some maf cleaner and clean the sensor and look for some vacuum leaks.

What would a wooshing sound be a indication of?

No problems at all when the motor is cold.

What does it take to clean the MAF, my f150 is slow, I had assumed it was because it was the HD 7lug version but if this is the case I'll try it.
