I just purchased a Silver 2010 Limited less than 2 weeks ago. I'm now seeing the following problems, and am concerned that this many issues in this short of a time period (10 days) may indicate a larger, systemic issue. I'm hoping someone here has some wisdom...

1. When using the steering wheel control for the radio, the volume button was pushed down to lower the volume, but the volume went up. This happened until the truck was turned off and started again.

2. When using the intermittent setting on the windshield wipers, the wipers wiped once, then not again. I tried this on various intermittent settings and the same thing happened. Again, this happened until the truck was turned off and started again.

3. The satellite radio has a fault and does not work. I researched a potential fix and it was unsuccessful.

4. The heated seats in the front were turned on and the A/C turned off. Once the truck warmed up, the heat was turned on. The heated seat (driver’s side) went off and wouldn’t turn on again. The button was pressed and the lights lit up while being pressed, but the button would not engage the heated seat on the driver’s side.

5. The driver’s seat memory was working and now it is not.

6. The autolock feature works intermittently. It is sent to “on” but does not engage 100% of the time.

7. The auto-down on the driver's side window doesn't work.

What do you seasoned people think of these issues?

Thanks!

A dealer, but not a Ford dealer. :(

I've contacted them, but the guy didn't seem like there was much he could do. Said he'd talk to his boss.

I'm curious to see what you guys think these could be - a big issue or just random switches going bad at the same time?

Electrical issues are typical of flood cars and there are plenty of those in Texas thanks to Harvey. Did you have it inspected before purchase?

Nothing to think here, really.

Memory seats and heated seats are capricious on most cars, windows get messed up easy over time, expy wiper controls are counterintuitive and have a steep learning curve, remote keys/fobs run out of charge or get messed up from dropping em too much, etc

Get a new head unit if you want, they're cheap.

Are you sure youre subscribed to Satellite Radio, have your new truck enteted into the sibscription, and actually have the antenna for satellite radio hooked up in the truck?

(Just because a button exists for the option doesnt mean it was ever installed/activated... also, it might not have been hooked back up correctly or completely if previous owner had an aftermarket head unit and kept it when selling truck)

The wiper issue may be something with the rain sensing auto wipers. Intermittent does not work the way you'd expect. Unplug the sensor to the top right of the rear view mirror and see if thing start working normally.

Seat memory only works when the truck is in park, so that could explain that one.

The other stuff requires investigating but these two might be easy fixes.

+1 for the wipers, the Limited has rain sensing wipers. The "intermittent" setting really just adjusts how aggressive they are. Mine sits on the lowest notch pretty much all the time (unless I'm in a car wash and I want them totally off) and they come on when needed.

The satellite radio antenna is notoriously bad. It also requires a subscription. My random dealer guy gave me a free month trial, and when I used it, I still got awful sound quality in the suburbs and really spotty reception in the city around tall buildings or in even sparse woods.

All the issues here are issues with the BCM under the dash but I think the only one that isn't just a misunderstanding on how things work is the heated seats. They might have shorted in the connection under the seat or the actual element in the seats could be faulty. Do the cooled seats work? They're the same circuit, but polarity reversed, and don't require the air-conditioning in the truck to be turned on. They're purely electric.

The memory seats/mirrors only work in Park.

Auto-lock was hard for me coming from a GM vehicle where auto-lock locks the doors whenever it's in gear and unlocks in park. On Ford vehicles, the doors lock when the vehicle speed is greater than ~9mph and unlock when the driver's door is opened.

Auto-down on the driver's window could be the switch, but it also requires more force than my previous car.
