Rain sensing wipers?

Ok, I feel like an idiot but how do the rain sensing wipers work? Last night it was raining and I flipped what I believe was the intermittent wiper dial to "1". I got one swipe and nothing. Turn up a few clicks, nothing. Put wipers to low speed on and that works. I'm pretty confused. Either my intermittent doesn't work, rain sensing doesn't work, or I don't know how to turn them on. Owner manual is no help. 2 pictures of same stalk.

Unfortunately that didn't help any. I don't have a different icon on the stalk. I asked a friend who has a 2013 F-150 who says it's in the setup menu on his truck. Not on mine. Could it be a fuse or relay?

Is there a decent sized black box behind/to the passenger side of your rear view mirror?

On windshield... Yes. Looks like 2 antenna coming out. I thought it was for the Sirius.

In the setup menu on the left screen there is an option to enable or disable it.

I have mine enabled but I have not noticed a difference in wiping frequency when raining lightly.

Setup menu left screen of radio/navigation? Shouldn't the intermittent feature work if rain sensing is off?

He has a 2017, different dash cluster, so doesn't apply to you.

Read on a F150 forum to unplug the sensor on the windshield and plug it back in. Seems like its worth a shot. The first click up on your intermittent wiper setting is correct. Assuming with the truck running you've taken a spray bottle with water and squirted the sensor from outside?


By having antennas running out of it... do you mean wires? There should be a small wire harness that goes to the rear view mirror harness.

sounds like he is looking at the remotes start modual. spray hose on windsheild as said earlier
