    2015-2017 recall for blower motors

Data point: My blower motor failed with 'smoke smell' in February. I scheduled with my dealer to have the interim blower installed so I could continue to defrost the rest of the winter. But the interim blower was backordered, estimated to be June as of last week. Maybe the replacement will...

    Snow tire cable or chain

OP, saw your exact vehicle with rear cables this morning sitting halfway up our 'problem' hill on a main road with flashers on, unable to move. Triple peak tires are the only solution for me. Since putting them on, I have never felt the need to use chains. But if you rarely travel here in the...

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

I have tweaked my 2017 XLT, activating a Ford brake controller I installed, enabling remote start, etc. But now have a new issue. Sync Line In is failing me, both USB and BT. Dealer thinks an update will fix it, but local dealer has no availabiltiy until December, and next town over is...

    Eco boost mpg

17.5 until I calibrated the display. Now a more accurate 15-16 depending on how much highway time we spend. But we live on top of a mountain and do a lot of engine braking.

Does 4x8 Plywood/Drywall Fit in the back of a 2022?

Just a counterpoint on MAX or not: Swapped the EL for Regular last time around, as the dogs had died, the kids were leaving the nest, and close-quarter maneuvering of the long chassis was becoming bothersome. I have been completely good with the decision, the occasional 4x8 sheets with an open...

    power loss and wrench icon

Oh you can definitely do it on the side of the road / hotel parking lot. With a brand new cheap Chinese socket set. In Laramie, WY while driving from MD to NV while towing a fully loaded 16' enclosed trailer. Thank you interwebs for alerting me to this problem that happens around...

    Lug nut insanity

Yup, saw those recommended earlier in the thread, but I did not want to deal with the extra step of a key for the locks.

    Lug nut insanity

For all you 2015-2017 folks, I spent WAY to much time looking for the right replacement. I ended up with McGard 64023. Best I could find was Xtremediesel.com, coupon code SAVEME10, add a $2.95 decal to get over the $99 free shipping threshold, $101 plus tax out the door.

    Outside mirrors for '12 Expy?

I came to the same conclusion, bought this one for my '17: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AJH1HK Right price, worked well on on a five day 2500 mile trip. It got smacked off while parked on a narrow road, no damage, clipped right back on.

Deepest snow you drove through for some distance

Tires. It's all about the tires. I am a BIG fan of Wranglers with a 3 peak rating. I carry chains, but have not needed them at Lake Tahoe the past four years. How deep? Dunno, I just go. Well worth the summer time road noise hauling the crew to El Dorado County for wine tasting.

This has to be the highest priced 2nd gen in the country.

"You love that Expedition more than me, don't you? You sell that thing right now or I'm leaving!" "Alright, dear. I'll list it with the car broker down the street, we can see if anyone wants to buy it." :p

Expedition Vibrates like an unbalanced wheel

A strange vibration on my 2000 turned out to be a front drive shaft installed backwards, FYI.

    Tranny temps

2017 no tow package. Last month, I did a cross country tow right at max GCVWR but above recommended frontal area (7' tall enclosed 7x16 trailer). 210*-220* seemed normal. 230* on a long incline, at which time I backed off a bit, 230* and climbing at speeds over 75. I forgot to fire up the...
