This code just threw for me too. 2017 Expy. And of course I am on a 2000 mile road trip in the south west.
Am i ok to drive with this for the rest of my trip or should I replace it sooner than later?
The 2017 is a unique beast and its hard to find aftermarket parts, especially suspension. The only thing that I found that was actually designed to be bolt on for that year is the ICON. I have heard others using combinations of Bilsteins, but I cannot confirm if they actually work on the 2017.
I have a 2017 and I did a lot of research, other than a spaceer lift, really your only other option for a decent lift (for the 2017) is the Icon suspension. But it is NOT cheap!!!
I have the Icons in my 2017 and it completely changes the ride.
This is what I have...
Little update on my Expy, Icons are fully installed in front and rear now.
This is a 2017 Limited. Its so hard to find anything for this truck...
I am running 33's and there is a very slight rub on the fender liner when making very sharp turns at slow speed.
Also got some new running...
I had to go the same way with my 2017 Limited. Apparently they changed the suspension in 2017.
I have the ICONS in the front end, and waiting on the rear that are back ordered.
get the UCA while you are at it.
@maxxplatinum9137 , any drive train issues with 35s, Did you have to re gear? And how the hell did you fit 35s in there. My 33s are already rubbing on tight turns.
Even with the Icon lift and UCA, you still will want to stick with 33" max as there is rubbing inside the wheel well and geometry issues with brake lines and fun stuff like that.
The biggest you can fit is 33" on a stock Expy. At least that's what I had on my 2017 Limited, before I got the icon suspension. Other than the 2/3" spacers, the only other option is the Icon for bolt on. But it's expensive as F*ck.
Actually, it hasn't been too bad. Some Californian in a Prius lost his shit, but other than that no real hassle... Just want the rear to complete it. It sure rides nice on the forest service roads.
I finally broke down and got the Icon 2.5 front suspension with remote adjustable reservoir with and tubular UCAs. Still waiting on the rear set which is back ordered for a few weeks.
Kinda regretting not getting smaller wheels with the new tires (275/60/20), but it just wasn't in the budget at...
