What I did in a nutshell. I cracked my plugs a quarter turn and soaked with carb cleaner over night. I dumped the cleaner in hole. Then i reattached my COPS(coil over plugs) ran the car to heat up. Hello, I confirmed the cat was shot by my mechanic. He dropped the exhaust and it was plugged. What made me suspect it, was a popping noise when misfiring. I could hear the pop on the passenger side. My 07 threw same codes. Turns out it was the passenger side cat. Did not through a code that indicated the cat. Anyway I replaced both cats and codes fixed. What hinted me to cat was it "whistled". "Don't try to replace spark plugs!" 2008 Why not?
Phew I just did my plugs using the impact wrench method. Only broke 2 and they were up front. What a job! I'm making it a yearly maintenance item to remove the plugs clean them and reapply anti seize. Truck runs a ton better! Had 96k on (my assumption) factory plugs.- Elvis Bogart
