Dealer says catalytic is bad. What's the mechanical difficulty rating of DIY?

How do I clear it. I've been driving since this happened, without any change in performance. I suspect the CEL will reset and the catalytic isn't bad at all...

Dealer says catalytic is bad. What's the mechanical difficulty rating of DIY?

I don't actually think the catalytic is bad, as I've driven since with no change in performance. Is there a way to reset the CEL, to see if it comes back on? I don't have emissions til next October, so I have some time to figure it out.

Dealer says catalytic is bad. What's the mechanical difficulty rating of DIY?

I had an incident while taking my '07 EL camping in the mountains. I got a CEL, lost most of my power and limped home. Dealer said my heater hose broke and leaked out onto the plugs and wires. Soo...$800 later I was back in business. Next morning...CEL again, so back to the dealer we go...

    Limp Home

Hi all! This morning, when I went out to my '07 XLT (110,000 mi.) to go to work, it wouldn't start (but all the lights and radio came on), and I got the familiar clicking sound. Obviously, I thought I had a battery problem so I used my wife's car to jump start it. It started up, but as soon...

Hesitation, check engine light, and P0302 code

That was all that was needed. Luckily.

Hesitation, check engine light, and P0302 code

As it turns out, it was a simple defective #2 plug. There was a small crack in the ceramic, so the hesitation was sporadic. Swapped it out and all better! Thanks for the input!

Hesitation, check engine light, and P0302 code

Hi all! I have a 2007 Expedition XLT EL that's just turned over 105,000 miles. I had my plugs done at 93,000, so it shouldn't be that after only a year. Dealer wants around $400 to replace what he guessed to be the ignition coil. I'm reasonably handy and have worked on my (simpler) vehicles...

Air is cold, but so is the heat?

Strangest thing happened last evening. I was watching YouTube vids on how to repair/replace the blend door. It's either removing the whole dash, or dremel-cutting a hole behind the glove box. Another vid said I should try to "exercise the temperature blend dial". When I went out to try that, I...

Air is cold, but so is the heat?

Yes. The engine temp gauge is normal and the truck is running just fine. I phoned the dealer, who promptly offered me a $65 diagnostic, but I'm more incline to troubleshoot the problem with help from informed people (like y'all), then do the work myself. Yes, again. When I turn the air...

Air is cold, but so is the heat?

I'm not sure this is the right forum, so if it'd be better elsewhere...please feel free to move. Anyway...my truck is a 2007 Expedition EL, and for the first morning of the season, I felt like mixing in some heat with those open windows. Problem is the air coming out when the selector was...

Suspension lift for 07 Expedition EL?

I have wanted to lift my Expy since I got it. When I first started looking for a kit, I found that there weren't any available, other than a leveling kit, which I installed and it gave me a little lift. What I'd really like is a 4"-6" suspension lift made by a reputable company, like ProComp...
