06 EB clunking on mild acceleration

Thanks for the reply. I bought from a small dealer, primarily because he has a good reputation and actually offers a 30 day/1000 mile drivetrain warranty. He's working with me, but he's an hour away and they've already taken a look. I want to gather real-world info so i can make sensible...

06 EB clunking on mild acceleration

I've searched the thread until my eyes cross. I picked up a nice 06 in great condition. It's a replacement for my 01. It does have one issue i'm trying to track down. Cruising along 30-50 mph (speed doesn't seem to matter) and about 1500-2000 rpm. Gentle acceleration causes serious sounding...

    Changed map lights to LED

you popped a fuse. There are two circuits to the lights, one is on door open, the other is on demand. don't know what year yours is but my 06 shows on-demand lighting is #24

Digital broadcast TV for the rear seat entertainment system

Digital TV doesn't do well in a moving vehicle. Try it out before you start mounting hardware. I have a 12 Volt bluray setup that works well. Used a 19" TV. The player is WiFi capable, so I can set up my mobile hotspot and get internet to the player. Fun stuff.

    05 EB edition - Compression/rough ide/stalling issue

Same issue here on my 01 5.4 non-EB w/ 165K. starts/runs fine, but after 30 miles or so, when coming to a complete stop (such as interstate exit), RPM varies, and if it drops too low, engine will stall. I can hold the idle RPM up by playing w/ gas pedal, keeps it from stalling. Starts right up...

    Live usb port

Another option is to pick up a cigarette lighter to USB port adapter, 5 bucks or so. Plug it into the cig lighter, which should always be hot.

    Mobile wifi for trip

I use T-Mobile. I have two dedicated hot spots. They work great in the car and aren't expensive at all. One is for work w/ 20 GB, the other is for the grandkids and has 2GB. Those are "high speed" GB. The data plan is unlimited. I also set up a table on the back seat floorboard. I have a 12...

    Help... Fuel Gauge Diagnosis

thanks, i'll look into the site. I live in a dusty environment, and I clean the MAF sensor with a spray. I replace the air filter also. I will let you know the outcome. I appreciate your input.

    Help... Fuel Gauge Diagnosis

150K or so. Do you mean the entire fuel pump assy? I can do that. Might also take care of the very occasional stall when I come to a stop after a long drive. RPM will drop and either stall or "almost" stall. Starts right back up and runs fine. Not asking for advice, necessarily, just thinking...

    Help... Fuel Gauge Diagnosis

My 01s gauge will work accurately once in a while but mostly stays at exactly one-half of a tank. When the ignition is off, the gauge zeros out. I have been relying on the trip odo, but would like to correct this problem with the gauge. Anyone's suggestions would be welcome. For the record, all...

    Ham radio installation

I know it's apples and oranges because my truck is an 01. I pulled the double DIN factory radio and put in my single DIN stereo with a Leixen dual band radio right above it. Neat and not terribly bad looking. Turned out the Leixen is a single DIN also.

    Fuel Gauge Problems

Same problem here on my 01 5.4. It was fine, then became intermittent, now constantly shows exactly half full. Only goes to Empty when ignition is off. I'm using the trip odo to gauge my refills, and that's fine, but I'd like to fix the gauge. I'm okay with electricals, just need a place to...
