    2000 Eddie Bauer or 2016 XLT - what would you buy?

    I recently gave away my 2000 Expy EB and it had over 300K on the odometer. Repairs on the 2000 may be more spendy than the 2016 unless you're into DIY. But the 5.4 or the 4.6 are tried and true. Go with the 2000, save the $$$.

    Dog ramp suggestions

    I too have an elderly puppers (yellow lab) that can barely jump into the back of my 2017 Expy EL. I bought a folding ramp similar to the Weathertech ramp, but the dog was reluctant to use it, so I screwed a piece of carpet to the walking surface and now she'll go up and sometime down to go on...

    Key fob replacement.

    If the push buttons still work, just buy a replacement plastic case and put your existing control board in the new case. Easy peasy. Did this with my 2000 EB and worked like a charm. Cheaper too.

    I purchase a UPR Dual Valve catch can from my '17 Expy. My son also purchased the same one for his 2014 F150. Easy install. I get lots of liquid out of my every other week when i drive it lots. I usually drain it when I get gas. Only mod I made was a valve on the bottom and a plastic hose...

    I replaced the back wiper with the recommendations from this forum. No more specialty wipers, just a standard replacement. Looks good too.

    Longest lasting, heck yeah. Just gave away my 2000EB with 292000 miles. Got a new 2017 EL XLT to replace it.
