Help with diagnosing wire
Can anyone tell me what this wire is? I was changing the ignition switch and when I took the bottom cover on the steering wheel column off this wire was just hanging? Just has a little male prong coming off it. I can’t find where it plugs into? Any help would be greatly appreciated!- mattyates12

New battery, solenoid and starter still no crank
Do you mind explaining the voltage drop test? Every time I search it nothing really pops up. I just crimped in an in-line fuse on the B+ cable that goes directly from the battery to the solenoid and it fried the 30 amp fuse on the first try. Also, Do you know why there is corrosion around...- mattyates12

New battery, solenoid and starter still no crank
I have a 01’ expedition XLT 4WD with a 5.4, and it’s given me nothing but problems. AC went out so a couple weeks ago I put in a new compressor and accumulator and flushed the system. I work a lot so took ma a day or 2 but I got it all done, ran a new belt and hooked all the electrical back up...- mattyates12

I slipped while messing with the solenoid and pushed the negative cable into the post while the solenoid B+ cable was touching a grounding bolt.- mattyates12

I’m about to do the voltage drop test. Probably a bad terminal because the B+ Wire to the solenoid slipped off a couple days ago and hit the mounting bolt to the solenoid, solenoid is base grounded. Melted into the negative terminal a decent little chunk.- mattyates12

I haven’t had it checked no, but I reconditioned it myself and slow charged it on 2 amps for 30-40 hours. Volt meters reading 13.2v. Its just from April of last year so battery is just now a year old. just doesn’t make any sense for the battery to be bad considering it started right up on my...- mattyates12

I have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD with a 5.4L 330ci engine. I got it about 3 weeks ago in working condition, but ac compressor was bad in it. Over the last 3 or 4 days, I’ve swapped out the ac compressor and accumulator for new ones, and put a new serpentine belt in it. Flushed the system...- mattyates12
