    Lazy man’s oil change…

I would follow the oil life monitor, personally. On my truck, that's every 7500 miles. 5000 miles is very conservative with modern oil.

    AC whisling

I know this has been covered before, I have searched and not found anything that quite lines up... 2012 Expedition. No known issues. I've noticed that my AC whistles or whines sometimes. I can fix it by tuning the AC off and on again. I'm not sure at what point it starts doing it again, though...

Recommendations for rear shocks & smooth ride

I installed Monroe Reflex on mine after having the OEMs leak a few times. I think they do a pretty good job of providing ride quality and a controlled ride.

Why does Ford still use such wimpy brakes?

Oh, one thing that we did on my 2012 was install Super Duty pads, part number BRSD1414, I think. https://www.motorcraft.com/us/en_us/home/new-old-our-products/brakes/motorcraft--super-duty--pads.html Hawk also makes some good pads that I've used on other trucks...

Why does Ford still use such wimpy brakes?

Never had an issue with my 2012 brakes. If anything, I've been surprised at how well they work. This includes towing a lot of miles with a trailer attached.

    What oil/filter do you use?

    2012 5.4L: Mobil 1 AFE 0W-20 and a Motorcraft FL-820S. Seems to work. robert

water in door after heavy rain (07)

I had this problem on my 2012, and like others here, I simply removed the plastic plug things. I also live in Houston, which gets plenty of rain.

    2011 Trials and Tribulations

Ya'll are scaring me. I've got a 2012 with about 65K on it. So far, been great. The windows seem like they struggle to go up and down, but nothing major has failed other than the shocks. Hopefully I got a good one? robert

    Rain sensing wipers too sensitive?

Thanks. That's what mine looks like, too. I guess they're working as designed. I rarely have to take them off the first click and even that is too sensitive. I suppose if that's the biggest complaint I have about the truck, it's pretty good! robert

    Rain sensing wipers too sensitive?

Meant to get back sooner, but one thing I noticed recently was that the glass had dots covering the rain sensor. I suspect that is not correct, that it should have a cutout (so to speak) where the sensor is located. I tried looking through the Ford parts catalog, and as pointed out above, there...

    Rain sensing wipers too sensitive?

There is. I'll give this another shot, I guess. Nice, mine is a King Ranch, also. I agree, in theory, I like the rain sensing wipers. It's pretty neat, I leave them on sometimes for weeks without and rain and then magically they turn on when it gets wet. Love it. Just wish they were not so...

    Rain sensing wipers too sensitive?

I have a 2012 Expedition. It has the rain sensing wipers. Generally, I think they're pretty cool, but they are way, way too sensitive. I never take it off the lowest level and it seems like it basically goes nuts even in the slightest rain. Is this something that can be adjusted by the dealer...

New 2018 Expedition w/ F150 features spy shots

Is it me or do the windows look tiny? One thing I like about the Expedition is the generous windows. robert

    Leaking Struts again !!

I had the same problem. Leaking at 40K, again at 60K. Replaced them with Monroe Reflex. Much better ride than the OEM dampers, anyhow. Hopefully they last a little longer, too. robert

    Pirelli Tires

That sounds crazy bad to me. How long are they warrantied for? I'm a Michelin man myself, though I put Firestone Destination LE2s on the Expy and do not regret it. FWIW. robert
