So I have re-set the timing, she runs so much better. After plugging number 6 coil back in. It is noticeably better. Lucky there was not major damage from a mistake like that. I ran it for over a year and towed a trailer.
The lesson here is the one link is on the bottom and the two links...
I knew the directions when I thought I set it right before. It says 11 o'clock for the passengers side and that is kind of sloppy. The only thing I can guess is I set passenger side and was trying to set the drivers side and rotated it. Passengers side appears good its drivers side covers...
This is embarrassing. So I like where that cams are but the crank need to rotate a bit clockwise. My plan is to lock down the cams and pull the chains off and rotated the crank and place the chains again. I am not sure how I set the timing off and did not blow rhe engine. I have been driving...
I happen to have done my oxygen sensors and the sensor 1 is supposed to go up and down on a graph and the sensor 2 should have a more steady value. At least in my old 2001. I expect the cat and sensors should be similar. So I wonder if you are certain that you got the right sensors. One is...
How could I verify the timing is correct?
If I scan the cam position sensors what would I look for. 180 apart? They were approximately 90 degrees apart. The mark was at the top of the head...
I also wanted to say o2 sensors a different up by the block (it should go up and down) and be steady back by the muffler, on a graph. So a screen shot of values does not tell you anything, anything g is wrong anyway. It's says they're working. You can tell more from the o2 sensors such as...
I can say a few things with certainty. If your vehicle is in one gear and you are going a specific speed the rpm will be constant. Transmission issues aside, you will not rev at higher rpm due to lean condition at a specific speed. If you were revving at a higher rpm, at a specific speed...
I have a 2001 xlt. I did some work on the engine and I believe I did it right. I have included a scan of my timing that says its 12 degrees off? There is no code but it does not run perfect yet. I have resolved my misfires but it seems starved for air at higher rpm? I have not replaced my...
Your looking for a short. Why don't you just say that? I would test it easily myself to see if it has amps to turn it over in the first place before you send someone on a wild goose chase for a short. One nice thing about text is that there is no arguing over what was said.

Explain how 11.3 volts is no connection?
I did not mean his test was for cca.
I learn on my own through researching stuff. Sorry this test is not familiar to me, Or the op and went unexplained since July (moderator). My bad for trying. The op probably junked it. Maybe someone else will...
Ok valid test of course from the moderator and I am going to apply that to my own vehicle however CCA is a thing also, in order to start. You could measure 12v and have low CCA because of a short the "vdt" will help you find. Find short circuits first, yes.
Technically if you have 11.3v...
An indication of a head gasket failure is if there is oil in the Coolant, so I would say that does not appear it. Also the leak could be anywhere until it is found... the water pump on my 2nd gen is right in front and it would have to break the seal to the block which may have happened. The...
Rich is what I would expect with no cat because it is not burned off. If your truck ran perfect I don't think you would be asking. If you have power loss and a lean code from the o2 sensor this suggests to me your not getting fuel that it is expecting. One benefit of o2 sensor beside...
