2004 Lincoln Navigator 4X4
Recently the check advtrac light started to come on. Does this when braking and shackes the brake peddle. Only does this occasionally so it's hard to track it down.
The ABS light does not come on. I changed the inner and outer tie rod ends about 4 months ago and had to...
4WD
yes I pulled the wheels off
Even with big pipe nothing seemed to be loose
BUT
The upper bal joint moves a little and the boot is pretty much pulled off
I am going to replace both upper control arms and see what happens
Just got to wait for parts now
Turns out the shocks will be the hard...
When turning slow the left front tire squeals and sounds like the tires dragging.
Did the standard shake rattle and roll checks but all felt tight .
I wasn't sure what the problem was until I had someone back up slow and turn the wheel slightly .
It looks like the wheel is about to fall off...
Update
I'm an idiot. Senior moment.
Short story made long. My granddaughter drives it most of the time so I rely on her impute because it never seems as bad when i drive it.
She said it was running worse after I cleaned the sensors so I went out and cleaned them again.
and hears where it gets...
Guess that's why I connot find it.
No DTC codes and no pressure gauge (that may change soon).
I'll get some cleaner and let you know if that helps.
Only does it in stop and go situations so I do not beleive its fuel pump .Runs great at speed.
I'll send the module back and use the savings to get...
Having a problem locating the fuel pump driver module on a 2004 lincoln navigator.
It is suppose to be behind the left rear tire on the frame but its not there.
Can anyone tell me where else they may have hidden it?
Bogs out under medium load when starting off but runs great at any other speed...
Update
I put the rest of my can of refrigerant in then flipped the can over to make sure I had all the liquid stuff they put in these cans and left it run for awhile and low and behold I got cold air
At this point I am assuming it needed the lubricant they put in these cans
Just hope it stays...
I have suspected the blend door because it is pretty warm blowing out but that would not make the pump kick in and out
I guess I will have to find a cheap set of gauges and maybe a small vacuum bulb and see what I can come up with
I have changed blend doors before and some vehicles are fairly...
Well that didn't work.
I'm going to try the relay next but im not hopefull.
No I do not have a set of gauges but when i hooked up the charge hose it only showed 22lbs and when I started the ac it dropped to 18. Put in about 10 0z and it jumped to 90 while charging and back down to 25 when not...
OK so its a Navigator not an Expedition
My AC is not working. I can see the clutch kicking in and out every couple of seconds
I am assuming that the compressor is seized but I thought I better double check before spending any money
Yup .That makes sense.
my original thought was the gears were so worn they allowed the wheel to move but it really makes more sense that the tie rod is rolling back and forth.
Thank you.
I tend to have a one track mind so it's helpfull the get a good swift kick to help change directions.
Bummer
It appears that I will need to replace either the CV axle or the differential .Lots of play on left side.
Right side will need an inner tie rod end soon.
I should be OK to drive it at least for a while. hopefully it will last until it warms up . If not i'll get it to a shop and rob peter...
It's supposed to be in the upper 30's today so i am going to take a closer look.
I would think that ball joints ,tie rod ends and bearings would tend to give me more side to side movement than the front to back I am getting.
I am kind of drifting more in the line of CV axle or maybe just bad...
