Strange blower motor issue on 2015 Expedition.
I had this exact issue. Same symptoms and everything down to the smacking the box and having it kick on and I also have a 2015 EL. Replaced resistor, did not help. 2015 expedition radio issue
I had a curious issue with intermittent signals that ended up being an unseated ground wire in a connector (just had to push wire back in all the way to seat it). Are there any other systems that are affected when the radio doesn't work? That is how I tracked down mine, the noticable issue was...- tucker ray

Odd Issue Solved
I've gotten a lot of help from here so I'll try to give some back.
