    Turn signal issue

On my 2003 EXP EB, when you turn on the emergency flashers, they flash for a while, then go to solid on. Has anyone experienced this one before ? L / R turn signals work fine !

Battery Light (P0620 Generator Conditions Circuit)

Ok got the fourth alternator (2nd from NAPA). Everything works fine. Previous alternators were 135 amp units. Did not work with my Expedition. I have no idea why. Installed a 110 and everything worked perfectly. 110 was the original spec. All the guys at the shop said no problem to...

Battery Light (P0620 Generator Conditions Circuit)

On the way to NAPA auto parts, the battery light remained on full time, but the battery gauge needle did not go down indicating discharge. Picked up the new alternator (no questions asked). Drove home to install it, and there was no battery light on in the instrument cluster, and no message in...

Battery Light (P0620 Generator Conditions Circuit)

My 2003 5.4 was throwing up the battery light on the instrument cluster with a "Check Charging System" in the message center. The light would randomly come on and go out. Yesterday the light came on, and stayed on. Also threw a CODE P0620 into the computer. I did the Ohm reading test, and...

    Occasional Long Crank

Mine long cranks when HOT only. Dealership said it was the fuel pressure regulator located on the driver side, halfway back on the engine. I replaced that, but still get long crank when hot. There is also a vacuum tube coming off of the top of the FPR, so I'm thinking that could be the...

    04 with 260k miles...........how far should i push my luck ?

My exact experience as well. At 20,000 miles, car in warranty, it needed a transmission replacement due to improper parts install at the factory level. After the new transmission was installed, the tech (who was also a race car tranny guy) told me you will never have to change this fluid. Of...

    04 with 260k miles...........how far should i push my luck ?

Mine is an Early 2003 5.4, with 194,000 miles on it. Been highway driven, always garaged, and always maintained, no dents, paint flawless. It "looks as new". Lots of parts over time replaced, like door seals, seat covers, etc., the stuff that wears out from normal use. So I feel like buying...

Looking for a way to play Pandora...

I installed a new Pioneer X3800BHS DVD receiver. It includes the ability to play Spotify, Pandora, AM-FM Digital Radio, DvD/CD player, USB music player and Sirrius. It was an easy install with the kit from Crutchfield, where I bought the radio. (you can also buy the unit cheaper at other...

2004 6 cd changer no longer works..think its jammed?

I tried the remove the positive battery cable, but that trick did not work for me. Crutchfield here I come. Was going to install the Navigation unit, EXCEPT my Expedition is an early build 2003, and the wiring harness is completely different between the early 2003 and the later build 2003. ; (

    no start when hot.

Fuel Pressure regulator on top of the engine. Make sure the vacuum line on each end of the regulator are functioning.

    Programmer

i'd put a K&N induction system on the 5.4 if mileage increase is what you are after. Also tune and run max octane fuel.

    Battery Light On

If it's a nuisance battery light on, please check Ford TSB 04-14-9 for details on the fix. Basically it is a change of the wire harness from the alternator to the battery and other associated elements, and a reprogram of the PCM to the latest calibration.

    Crank, Delayed Start

Could also be the fuel pressure regulator sits on top of the engine, snap ring to replace it. This solves many long crank issues with the 5.4. Also make sure that the vacuum line on top of the regulator is attached properly on both ends, as this controls the position of the fuel pressure...
